These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BookBeam ("we", "us", "our"), accessible at bookbeam.app. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use BookBeam.
BookBeam is a book distribution platform for authors. The service allows you to:
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You must provide accurate information during registration (name, email address, password). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials, including any two-factor authentication secrets and API tokens.
Each account is associated with a personal team. You may create additional teams and invite other users to collaborate.
You retain full ownership of all content you upload to BookBeam, including book files, cover images, and metadata. By uploading content, you grant BookBeam a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, serve, and distribute that content solely for the purpose of operating the service on your behalf.

BookBeam does not review or moderate uploaded content. You are solely responsible for the legality of the content you distribute.

When readers provide their email addresses to download your books, you are the data controller for those email addresses. BookBeam acts as a data processor on your behalf.
You must:
Webhook integrations: When you configure a newsletter webhook URL, BookBeam will send reader email addresses, book title, author name, and signup timestamps to that URL each time a reader signs up. You are solely responsible for the security and privacy compliance of the receiving service.
BookBeam offers both one-time lifetime deals and recurring subscription plans. All payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, our third-party payment processor. BookBeam does not store your credit card details.
You may generate personal API tokens through your account settings. You are responsible for keeping these tokens secure. Treat API tokens as you would a password. BookBeam is not liable for any unauthorised access resulting from compromised API tokens.
Team owners are responsible for the actions of their team members on the platform. When a team owner deletes a team, all associated book projects, files, signup links, and download records are permanently deleted.
BookBeam's name, logo, design, and underlying software are the intellectual property of BookBeam. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer any part of the service. Nothing in these Terms transfers any BookBeam intellectual property to you.
By you: You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. This will permanently delete your user data, teams you own, and all associated book projects and files.
By us: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination, except in cases of serious or repeated violations.
Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
BookBeam is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to provide advance notice of significant changes.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookBeam and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of revenue, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to BookBeam in the twelve months preceding the claim.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be secure, error-free, or that any defects will be corrected.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless BookBeam, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on the service. Your continued use of BookBeam after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
